Finding out what's happening nearby usually means checking five different Facebook groups, a Chamber of Commerce newsletter, and a community bulletin board — and still missing half of it. Tapalist closes that gap: a fast, clean local events calendar we designed and built from scratch, already live in Hawai'i, Alaska, and Oregon, with more states rolling out over time.
Built for Finding, Not Just Browsing
Most community calendars are a wall of text sorted by date and nothing else. Tapalist filters by state, region, city, day of the week, and even time of day — morning, afternoon, evening, or night — so a search for "something to do Saturday morning near Portland" actually returns something useful instead of every event in the state.
One Calendar, Every Corner of the Map
The site is built to scale by jurisdiction from day one. Each state gets its own set of regions and cities, and adding a new one is a data and content decision, not a rebuild — the same architecture that already covers Hawai'i, Alaska, and Oregon extends cleanly to the next 47.
Submitted by the Community, Verified for You
Anyone can add an event through a simple form, and every listing carries a plain disclaimer: details are user-submitted or pulled from public listings, so double-check before you go. That tradeoff is deliberate — a calendar only stays useful if it is easy enough for organizers to keep current themselves.
Every Listing Comes Ready to Act On
Open an event and you get one-tap directions through Google Maps or Apple Maps, plus a full set of share options — copy the link, text it, email it, or drop it straight into WhatsApp, Facebook, or X. Finding an event and actually getting people there shouldn't require three different apps.
Not Every Event Has to Be Public
A private party, a members-only meetup, a family reunion — some things need a page and a shareable link without showing up in public search. Organizers can flip any event to private from their dashboard: it disappears from the public list and becomes reachable only through a unique access code, which they can hand out, revoke, or reissue at any time.
Built the Same Way We Build Everything
Tapalist runs on the same philosophy behind every site we ship: lightweight, fast-loading, and self-contained, with no bloated third-party platform underneath it. A local events site should not take five seconds to load on a phone at a bus stop, so it doesn't.
If you organize events in Hawai'i, Alaska, or Oregon, listing yours on Tapalist costs nothing but a few minutes. And if you want a site built with the same speed and care, that's exactly what we do.
